Meeting for International School Founding and Principals’ Leadership Training Successfully Convened at Dalian Royal School
With the support of Peking University’s International School Operations and Management course, Dalian Royal School and Jiahui Education Group successfully hosted a conference with the theme “Creating the Future and Developing together” from September 19th through 21st, 2019.The event brought together principals and administrators from more than 20 international schools in more than 10 provinces and cities across the country. Through keynote speeches, round table forums, school observations, surveys and other varied approaches, it simultaneously explored new ideas and ways of thinking about the development and construction of international schools, and examined the contributions of a diversity of high-quality educational resources to society.
On the morning of September 20th, Principal Zhang and Principal Liu of Dalian Royal School and their leadership team warmly greeted guests from other international schools. The guests greatly appreciated the enthusiasm and courtesy of DRS students, they also enjoyed the beautiful campus. Principal Liu started with the reasons why the school should have STEM courses and finally demonstrated the students' work. After learning about the STEM courses in our school, the professors from Peking University were amazed by the students’ performance.
In the afternoon, Principal Zhang and all the guests visited Dalian Jiahui Middle School. First, principle Zhang introduced the history and achievements of the school. After learning that the top Dalian middle school student came from this school, everyone congratulated president Zhang and Secretary Ma.
The next stop was Jiahui No. 2 Middle School. The guests were surprised by the beautiful natural scenery and strong cultural atmosphere of the campus.
After this, the group moved on to Jiahui Sunshine Primary School. At this campus the fragrance of calligraphy and painting expressed the concept of an excellent Jiahui education.
On the morning of the 21st, the principals returned to DRS to attend an inspiring lecture on the establishment of international schools, which was hosted by Principal Liu. She shared her theories and experience. During a round table discussion, Ms. Hao encouraged all the principals to give advice and to learn from each other.
The success of this meeting not only established a platform for communication with excellent schools around China, but also showed our school's status as an educational leader in this new era.
